I am inspired by open spaces and the details of nature. I build my paintings with layered textures that invite both curiosity and tension. The surfaces seem to ask to be touched—their grooves and ridges pulling viewers in—yet many people know that the rules of the gallery world require viewers to keep that impulse at bay. In this moment of wanting and withholding, my work creates an intimate exchange between artwork and observer, reminding us of the fragile balance between desire, restraint, and the way we experience beauty.
