4th Street Festival of the Arts and Crafts 2025Saturday August 30th, 10-6 pm (ET)
|
Please join me at the 49th Annual Fourth Street Festival of the Arts and Fine Crafts in Bloomington, Indiana. The site of the festival is on Fourth Street from Lincoln Street to Indiana Avenue. It is a pleasant tree-lined area near the Indiana University campus and downtown Bloomington. Over the years the festival has steadily increased in popularity, drawing a crowd of 35,000 - 45,000 art-savvy patrons. Forty nine years ago a group of area artists and craftspeople created the Fourth Street Festival as a rigorously juried art event that would be mutually beneficial to the exhibitors and the community. This show is truly run by artists, for artists. Submissions are juried on-line by an independent peer jury.
Held Together: Fragility & Endurance in Art
May, 2025Visionary Art Collective
VisionaryArtCollective.com Held Together delves into the intricate interplay between fragility and endurance, exploring how moments of vulnerability can coexist with remarkable strength. It invites viewers to reflect on fragility in its many forms—personal, societal, and environmental—and consider how instability, loss, and uncertainty shape the human experience.
For this exhibition, the juror was seeking work that examines how artists navigate the delicate tensions in their lives and the world around them, confronting themes of impermanence, resilience, and repair. By examining the spaces where things come undone and are rebuilt, Held Together is a testament to the beauty and complexity of resilience in a world that is both precarious and full of possibility. The exhibition is juried and curated by the guest curator Sergio Gomez, of 33 Contemporary Gallery (Lake Worth, FL) and Zhou B Art Center (Chicago, IL). |
