It was a great night at the Beyond Urban exhibition in the ACS Gallery (on the 4th floor of the Zhou B Art Center). Thank you to Renee LaVerne Rose (gallery owner) and Joe + Kathleen Isacson (curators) for making this exhibition happen.  

It is only a few days away and I am both excited and nervous to show my paintings in the group exhibition titled Beyond Urban, curated by Joe and Kathleen Isacson, in the ACS Gallery on June 17th. I'm excited to have a completely new audience view my paintings, but of course I'm nervous to wonder how my fellow Chicago artists will receive my artwork. 

Your Core Being is a locally owned 'alternative and holistic health' business in downtown Freeport, IL.  This store front and yoga studio is working with individuals to define and attain personal health and wellness goals, and with businesses to enhance employee wellness programs through yoga, movement, nutrition and lifestyle instruction and coaching.

Owner and manager, Pat Leitzen Fye, supports area artists and craftsmen by offering her store front as a venue to sell their locally made items.  The newest addition to her shop includes original paintings by Carrie Baxter.  

I'm very excited to announce that two of my newest encaustic paintings have been selected for the Memories, Myths & Messages exhibition at the Quad City Arts Gallery in Rock Island, IL.
